CLIMBS Life and General Insurance Cooperative and the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities formally strengthened their collaboration through the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on July 29, 2026, at Seda Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City.
The signing brought together members of the ICSC Board and its directors, along with the President and Chief Executive Officer and Group Senior Vice President of CLIMBS. The activity marked the formal establishment of a framework that will guide the two institutions in pursuing shared initiatives related to climate and disaster risk finance and insurance.
Building on years of collaboration, the partnership will support future joint research, capacity building, policy engagement, and knowledge exchange. It also seeks to help translate national climate policies and technical knowledge into practical and locally responsive initiatives that address the needs of cooperatives and communities.
Through the partnership, CLIMBS will serve as a key cooperative partner in connecting climate-related policies and research with initiatives that can be applied at the local level. Its participation reflects the important role of cooperatives in advancing inclusive approaches to climate resilience and in helping communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from climate-related risks and disasters.
