CLIMBS: Advancing Local-to-Global Excellence Through Lifelong Learning

WEBSITE POSTING

CLIMBS Life and General Insurance Cooperative continues to strengthen its commitment to leadership excellence and lifelong learning as members of its senior leadership participated in the recently concluded Stanford Executive Program in Strategy and Organization (EPSO) at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

The CLIMBS delegation included President and CEO Noel D. Raboy, Founding Trustee of the Co-operative College of the Philippines (CCPH), and Group Senior Vice President Donna C. Dizon, CEO and Principal of CCPH.

Also participating was a delegation from Metro Ormoc Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative (OCCCI), a CLIMBS member-owner cooperative, led by Chairperson Rev. Fr. Elmo P. Manching. He also serves as Chair of CCPH and NaFeCoop and Vice Chairperson of CLIMBS. Joining him were OCCCI Senior Management Team members Mizpah Taala, Arvin Villena, and Arlex Doroja.

As cooperatives navigate technological change, climate risks, evolving member expectations, and increasingly complex business environments, executives need more than technical expertise. They must possess strategic thinking, sound judgment, adaptive leadership, digital and AI readiness, and the ability to lead organizations through transformation.

The program strengthened the delegates’ understanding of strategy and organizational leadership while reinforcing CLIMBS’ commitment to bringing global knowledge into the cooperative context. It reflects the belief that cooperatives can pursue international standards of excellence while remaining firmly grounded in their identity, values, and responsibility to their communities.

Building on this experience, discussions were held with the Stanford GSB team regarding opportunities for CCPH to facilitate access to relevant executive education programs for interested cooperative leaders. This supports CCPH’s continuing mission to develop a strong pipeline of capable, innovative, and future-ready cooperative executives.

Excellence grows through lifelong learning—and leadership becomes more meaningful when it prepares others to lead.
