CLIMBS Champions Global Solidarity Through Support for the Fund for International Cooperative Development

FICD FUND

In an era when collaboration across borders has never been more vital, CLIMBS is reaffirming its role as a steadfast advocate of global cooperative solidarity. By strengthening its support for the Fund for International Cooperative Development (FICD), the organization underscores its belief that cooperation remains a powerful force for inclusive growth and shared prosperity.

As a founding member of the FICD, CLIMBS took the opportunity to actively promote the Fund’s mission during a recent visit to Manchester. The visit formed part of the Global Cooperative Executive Masterclass Program organized by the Co-operative College Philippines, in partnership with the National Federation of Cooperative Primaries in the Philippines (Nafecoop). The program gathered cooperative leaders committed to strengthening institutions and expanding their impact beyond national boundaries.

A highlight of the visit was the formal presentation of a Certificate of Support to FICD Lead, Dr. Sarah Alldred. The certificate was handed over by CLIMBS and its allied organizations, led by Chair Fr. Elmo Manching, Vice Chair Marlene Sindayen, and President and CEO Noel Raboy. The ceremony followed a meaningful dialogue exploring opportunities for deeper regional and global collaboration—an exchange that reflected shared values and a unified vision for cooperative advancement.

The FICD plays a critical role in equipping cooperatives to stimulate economic development, respond to crises, and build resilient communities. Through strategic partnerships and cross-sector engagement, the Fund champions cooperative principles while encouraging innovation and long-term sustainability.

For CLIMBS, this show of support is more than symbolic. It represents a continuing commitment to building bridges across continents, empowering communities through cooperative enterprise, and shaping a future where solidarity drives sustainable progress.
