The Willingness-To-Pay (WTP) Surveys in line with recently approved drought insurance, a new added component of the Weather Protect Insurance, the CLIMBS-WPI team composed of Project Manager, Mr. Rueland Mark Marapao, Ms. Juliette Virgula, and Mr. Miguel Toledo along with Regional Sales Manager, Mr. Merboy Iglesia, CAC Field Officer, Mr. Mark Mobe, and Area Sales Manager, Mr. Ezra Gamolo and CIAT Staff, Mr. James Leyte conducted another batch of willingness-to-pay surveys in Carmen Samahang Nayon MPC with over 52 farmer-members last January 9–11, 2024, in Bohol Province. The WTP Survey enables CLIMBS, the Alliance of Bioversity, and CIAT to determine the farmer’s ability to pay for the insurance product, gather data on the farmer’s perceptions of the insurance coverage, their willingness to contribute financially to the insurance scheme, and identify the factors that influence their decisions to participate. Through this data gathering and collection process, it guides the development of insurance products that are affordable, accessible, and tailored to the farmer’s needs.
