Forging Global Ties, Empowering Local Futures: CLIMBS Leads Cooperative Innovation Mission to China

CLIMBS Life and General Insurance Cooperative is pioneering a new era of collaboration and growth through strategic partnerships with Filipino and Chinese companies, including SBK, a global partner of the PHCCI Dumaguete , a member-owner of CLIMBS.

As part of a high-level cooperative mission, CLIMBS, with some members of Board and Managment, primary cooperative leaders and key partners participated in the prestigious 137th Canton Fair, one of China’s largest trade exhibitions, to explore new business opportunities and promote cooperative innovation.

During the mission, CLIMBS visited the Nanning Innovation Demonstration Base, a hub for innovation and technology-driven development. This visit showcased the latest advancements in various industries and highlighted potential areas for collaboration. Hosted by the SBK, the discussion focused on areas of cooperation, the promotion of cooperative education in sustainable development through the Co-operative College of the Philippines and its partner federation, NaFeCoop; and the important role of the newly- formed Renewable Energy Co-operative of Philippines (RECo-op) and the Philippine Co-op Chamber in advancing sustainable practices among co-ops while spurring innovation and economic progress.

A highlight of the mission was the visit to a solar panels factory and manufacturing facility of the Da Sheng Group, a strategic partner of SBK China office. This visit demonstrated the group’s commitment to renewable energy and sustainable development, aligning with CLIMBS’ values of community empowerment and environmental responsibility.

Through these partnerships and visits, CLIMBS aims to strengthen and enhance expertise and resources to drive positive change and create a more sustainable future for its members and the communities they serve.
