December 7, 2023His Excellency President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. extended his deep appreciation to the Cooperative College of the Philippines and CLIMBS Life and General Insurance Cooperative for organizing the 2nd Coop Climate Summit, which was attended by over 262 participants ranging from leaders, officials, and advocates of both the public and private sectors including esteemed and honorable representatives from the Insurance Commission (IC), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), Climate Change Commission (CCC), and the Philippine Congress through Coop NATCCO Partylist on November 15, 2023, at the Manila, Philippines. His Excellency also praised the cooperative sector for its ongoing growth and commitment to climate resilience and sustainability. With the urgent need for action as a result of the climate crisis, the cooperative sector emerges as a transformative source and active doer of advocating, coordinating, and supporting sustainable practices to combat climate change.
