CLIMBS Life and General Insurance Cooperative led by its President and CEO, Mr. Noel Raboy, together with its Global partners, IBISA Network represented by Ms. Dorien Asampana, and CIAT represented by Mr. James Elwyn Leyte, had a collaboration meeting with the Climate Change Commission (CCC), via zoom on May 12, 2023.

The meeting was led by CCC Undersecretary, Commissioner Albert P. Dela Cruz, Sr. Also present during the meeting were representatives from SGV/EY, OCADC and EY Law.

CLIMBS’ Vice President for Admin and Corporate Planning, Ms. Donna Dizon, presented the company profile, climate action initiatives, solutions, project contribution, and the concept of Weather Protect Insurance (WPI) project — to promote agriculture microinsurance product, to increase sector resilience to climate change risk, and to introduce innovative risk-transfer mechanism such as weather-based/index parametric insurance system, including multi-systems approach.

Moreover, the Vice President for Marketing, Ms. Rowena Abella, presented the WPI product and its unique features on smart-farming for food security, sustainability and climate action.

We are thankful and honored for the support of the CCC, especially to Commissioner Dela Cruz. We hope that this collaboration will open many doors of opportunity and support from the government for its goals.
