September 5, 2023In efforts to combat the adverse effects of climate change, CLIMBS held its last Weather Protect Insurance (WPI) Roadshow nationwide on September 1, 2023 at N Hotel, Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro. The 45th roadshow was attended by the CLIMBS Top management, President and CEO, Noel D. Raboy, VP for Admin & Corp. Planning, Donna C. Dizon, VP for Marketing, Rowena R. Abella, OIC-VP for Compliance, Bernadeth N. Bernadas, OIC Assistant VP Non-Life Division, Junnevic R. Item and Legal Counsel, Atty. Dixie G. Olape.
The event was attended by over 30 member cooperatives, including representatives from the local government units of CDO and Balingasag, with a total of 45 participants from the region all gathered together to find more innovative solutions to farming and crop protection.
“Kinahanglan ta ug systematic way nga atong mga miyembro– in case of calamity and extreme weather nga naa tay mahatag, mao na ang atong ihangyo saatong mga miyembro nga let’s join that for the principle of cooperation of the co-ops and the value of self-help, and self-responsibility,” CLIMBS President and CEO, Noel D. Raboy said in his welcoming speech.
(English Translation: We need a systematic way that our members– in case of calamity and extreme weather we can give them something, that’s why we urge our members to join that for the principle of cooperation of the co-ops and the value of self-help, and self-responsibility.)
The Weather Protect Insurance (WPI) Roadshow has successfully officiated in 17 regions nationwide, with its primary objective in preventing the dire consequences of climate change for farmers and co-op members alike.
