June 12, 2023CLIMBS Life and General Insurance Cooperative, a member of the International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation (ICMIF), was invited to the Meeting of Reinsurance Officials 2023 last June 6-8 at Des Moines, Iowa (USA) hosted by EMC.
It was attended by the Management Team and Members of the Board of Directors: Mr. Noel Raboy, President and CEO, Ms. Donna Dizon, Vice President for Admin and Corporate Planning and the CEO and Principal of the Co-operative College of the Philippines, and Board of Directors Ms. Hermes Vergara and Mr. Noel Quidilla.
Mr. Raboy was invited to be one of the speakers together with equally passionate leaders. He presented the ESG and Resilience in (re)insurance; and showcased the ESG approach of CLIMBS and exemplifies its strong commitment to environmental, social and governance through its various actions and initiatives.
Environment:
CLIMBS has always been actively participating in various community development activities such as tree planting and coastal-clean up drives. One of its major activities is the enhanced weather protect insurance designed for the cooperatives and their farmer-members with value-added benefits that will help the farmers with their farming practices.
Also, continuous learning sessions, information and awareness campaigns on climate risk promote #EnvironmentalSustainability that supports sustainable living.

Social:
Promoting social responsibility is part of CLIMBS’ DNA as a cooperative. #SocialResponsibility encompasses a range of issues, of which CLIMBS has taken specific issues in community development, equity, diversity and inclusion.
Governance:
CLIMBS endeavored to make significant contributions to promoting good governance practices. An example of commitment to #GoodGovernance and support to more effective and responsible organizations by patronizing transparency, accountability, ethical behavior, and board diversity and independence. These are reflected in the governance scorecard as well as in the various activities that CLIMBS has engaged with.
