On April 24,2023 at Seda Hotel Cagayan de Oro City, CLIMBS Top management convened a roundtable discussion with CLIMBS Weather Protect Insurance Core Team, International Partners, M K Balachandran, Joshua Dean from University of Chicago, Susanna Berkouwer from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, together with Weather Specialists from Pag-asa, Daizyree A. Baran-Flores Weather Specialist I, Catherine T. Asunto Weather Specialist I, Arianne S. Sioson, Weather Specialist I to address current issues and identify solutions and lay out urgent, medium term and long term goals and actions. It was also a means to design and implement developmental strategies for Weather Protect Insurance.
The team proposes identifying one or two locations and dates and providing them to the IBISA Network for data correlation analysis. Understanding climatology and meteorology will help the sales and marketing department relay more accurate and quality information. It was also discussed how to address product activity for cooperatives and partners’ development.
It was an insightful collaboration of thoughts and ideas to better serve the community, cooperatives and local & international partners.
This event was also supported by InsuResilience Solutions Fund (ISF) and partnered with Co-operative College of the Philippines, International Cooperative Mutual Insurance Federation (ICMIF), IBISA Network, Global Parametrics, and Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT).
