During the Invest Philippines Week 2023 of the Department of Trade and Industry, CLIMBS President and CEO, Mr. Noel D. Raboy, was invited as one of the panelists for the Philippine Halal Economy Festival, with the theme “Digital Horizons: Navigating the Global Halal Economy with the Philippine Halal Champions,” held at the SMX Aura, Taguig City, on November 22, 2023. Along with the top management, the VP for Administration and Corp. Planning, Ms. Donna C. Dizon, and VP for Operations, Ms. Blessy L. Cumba.
The festival was attended by honorable and esteemed guest speakers, starting off with Hon. Yusoph Mando, Commissioner, National Commissions on Muslim Filipinos, Atty. Sukarno Abas, Deputy Minister, BARMM Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism; His Excellency Dato Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino, Ambassador, Embassy of Malaysia; and Dir. Aleem Siddiqui Guiapal, Program Manager, Task Force for Halal Industry Development and Related Projects, Office of the Secretary, DTI.
The event paves the way for stakeholders in both public and private enterprises to undertake the transformative potential of the Philippine Halal economy. Mr. Raboy also highlights the ongoing efforts of developing a ‘Takaful Insurance’, which aligns with promoting ethical, inclusive, and sustainable protection for Muslim communities. This event also signifies a valuable opportunity for the Bangsamoro government to ignite meaningful discussions, encourage collaboration, and propel the Philippines’ Halal economy onto a global scale.
