September 21, 2021On September 14 and 15 CLIMBS Life and General Insurance participated in the International Labor Organization’s (ILO) “Integrated Risk Management Solutions – 3rd Community Practice Workshop”. The event was held virtually via Zoom and participated by: CLIMBS, Oro Integrated Cooperative (OIC), Nabunturan Integrated Cooperative (NICO), Dvara KGFS, Kabalikat para sa Maunlad na Buhay, Inc. (KMBI), and Koperasi Mitra Dhuafa (KOMIDA). The objectives of the event were to: share experiences and lessons from projects and how organizations have dealt with COVID-19 in the past year, build understanding on technical topics, and share plans for future activities.
Representatives from each participating organization recounted the challenges faced and lessons learned during the pandemic, as well as the strategies and solutions they employed to protect themselves and their clients. Other important topics which were discussed comprehensively were: 1) Savings-linked products results and client satisfaction by OIC, NICO, & KGFS, 2) Agricultural and climate insurance by CLIMBS; the linking of the PRETI product and the Weather Protect Insurance product, 3) Digital transformation by KMBI, KGFS, & KOMIDA. After all the discussion, Mr. Craig Churchill (Chief of the Social Finance Program) and Aparna Dalal of the ILO expressed willingness for future collaborations with the partners. The Impact Insurance project in the Philippines was awarded to CLIMBS with its partner-cooperatives integrating holistic risk solutions.
